As we edge closer to spring, it's the perfect time to revamp your approach to household cleaning. If you find that some methods aren't quite cutting it anymore, now's an ideal time to switch things up for the better.
A frequent problem at home is coarse and abrasive towels - often the result of accumulated detergent or softening agents.
But don't worry - if you don't have a tumble dryer at hand, there's a way to keep that brand-new towel softness and fluffiness by merely changing how you store them.

This comes straight from Molly Freshwater, the founder of Secret Linen Store, who has shared insider know-how on avoiding the dread of stiff towels that are never pleasant to dry yourself with.
For those dealing with limited storage or wrestling with jam-packed cupboards, it might be wise to adopt a different storage strategy, reports the Express.
The expert advised against overly tight folds or piling weights on towels, as this can compress the fibres, making them increasingly rigid as time passes.
To preserve their softness, place them in a loosely packed way, leaving enough space to let air flow between them. This simple change can prolong the fresh scent and cushiony comfort.

On top of that, crowding too many towels in your washing machine is another common mistake that can make your towels become tough and hard.
The expert said: "It might feel easier to just toss all the family's bath towels into the wash at once, but this won't actually help with softness or cleanliness.
"When there are too many towels in the machine, the detergent and fabric conditioner can't rinse out properly. For the best results, try washing your towels in smaller loads.
"This way, the detergent gets a chance to properly rinse out, leaving your towels feeling soft, fluffy, and ready to use after every wash."
And finally, while a tumble dryer can be excellent for making towels feel softer, over time it can have the opposite effect.
The expert suggests opting for a low heat setting when using a tumble dryer to prevent towels from drying out completely or better yet, hanging them outside on a windy day.
For those who do use a tumble dryer, throwing in a tennis ball or dryer ball could help speed up the drying process and keep your towels plump and plush.
